Chad Norris has a B.S. in Environmental Geology from the University of Houston and a M.S. in Aquatic Biology from Southwest Texas State University. As a research assistant at SWT, Chad was involved in the variable flows study of Comal and San Marcos Springs funded by the Edwards Aquifer Authority and his thesis work focused on the effects of variable springflows on invertebrate drift within three spring runs at Comal Springs. He has worked for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for 14 years and is currently a part of the Water Resources Branch where his duties include documenting and describing springs across the state, gathering baseline biological and hydrological data on springs of the Edwards Plateau, assisting private landowners and other entities with springs conservation and restoration efforts, reviewing water right permits and water development projects for environmental impacts, and assisting with regional water planning activities.
